What's your point?

Just picking on those guys in Vegas who didn't meet the arfcom basement dweller standard when taken by surprise by a killer with a shotgun.

Please, explain how it is not the same subject. It is a tale of an individual who was put into an unbelievable situation that protected himself and others.

It seems to be a reference to the LA Courthouse shooting where LEO's fired 81 rounds at one guy and hit him all of two times, as opposed to civilians using their firearms for self defense and getting more lead on target.

And none of those situations even remotely come close to what happened in Vegas. Is that what you're trying to compare those to?

My apologies to the fine officers in the Las Vegas Shooting .

OP, after quickly perusing the stories in the link you provided, I'm not really sure what your point is. Most of the stories provided in your link are about short, close-quarter confrontations, not surprise ambushes out in the open where multiple officers and multiple innocent civilians are involved.

Have you been in a shooting incident? Have you fired a gun in self-defense?

Don't get me wrong, I too when I heard about the cops involved in the recent incident firing 81 shots for only 2 hits on the suspect. But I also realize that the particular circumstances may have warranted such a response. (I confess I have not read about the particulars of that incident; I have only heard the TV news blurbs.) I am simply not going to MMQB fellow officers without good cause.

Again, not trying to pick on you, just not sure what your point is.

Lies,all lies!

Only after 6 months in the police academy does one have the ability to defend themselves.
And nobody can do it without shooting everyone in sight.

My point is exercising your right to carry can save your ass .Even if you are a basement dwelling internet commando .The reference to the Las Vegas shooting was not relevant.

I agree that people should be armed if they desire to be.  But you seem obsessed with the performance in Las Vegas

Well, in that case, I completely agree.

The caveat is that no matter whether MIL, LE, or "basement dwelling internet commando," one who chooses to carry a gun needs to maintain proficiency with said gun.

I think somebody may have gotten butt hurt from a recent post.

BTW, as an NRA Life Member, I take the time to read the Armed Citizen section of my American Rifle magazine every month.
