SSI disability is the new welfare! Millions of people are gaming the system to get permenant payments and medical coverage from us. I work in an ER alot of these people are in their 20's and 30's and want nothing but drugs. They charge the government thousands of dollars an ER visit for whatever crap they can think up. A couple of recent examples are coming to the ER for tylenol and ace bandages because it would have cost a couple of dollars out of pocket (also our dollars) at the pharmacy. |
| I've been fighting with them for nearly 3 years now. I have an appointment with a judge later this month-finally. I've had 4 back surgeries (3 prior to my 30th birthday) and don't get how some folks get on because they're depressed, or a drunk. Fuck-the 2 hours it takes to get to a doctor visit and home cripples me for a few days afterward-nevermind going to a movie with my wife. |

My dad took years to get his legit SSI disability from an injury with the Fire Dept.
I work LE and constantly see the converts from welfare to SSI Disability. NY got a little more strict on welfare awhile ago so when they got kicked off of that for being shammers they looked at SSID. They laugh and say it's pretty easy to get on. Some of the more frequent "disabilities" are anxiety disorders, bad backs after 2 weeks working , or my favorite.....obesity. The anxiety issue seems to be the local favorite. I think they'd be anxious if they cut off their BS checks.

It really is amazing at how much you can soak the gov't for if you know how to do it. And unfortunately various sectors of our society seem to be just creating this large group of people that would rather live off the government than work and they are passing that attitude on to their kids and friends.
I am guessing that around 2075 there will be 100 people in the US working and they'll be taxed 100% and the government will make up the shortages by printing more money. I know it seems foreign to most of us here but to many folks the idea of living off the government and subsisting at the level they are at is really attractive to them. They know ho to game the system and end up doing not so bad. And in many cases are living much better than a lot of decent Americans that are working 40-50 hours a week. That is why I'd never fault a man or woman working an honest job. I see some folks bag on others because of their occupation but in my book if you get up every day go to work and put in a honest days work I salute you. I have a million times more respect for the guy that vacuums out porta potties than I do the piece of shit sitting on his front porch whining about how no one will give him a job. One more thing I travel to countries where the really are poor people. I mean these people live no better than animals and often look like animals in their rags and filth. And in many of these countries these folks will do unspeakable things to get a piece of fruit or bread but we have people here who'd rather take government money than lower themselves to do certain jobs. Total bullshit. To be honest I have more respect for some Mexican who sits at Home Depot waiting for a day labor job than I do the lard assed lazy fuckers we have here in the US living off our tax dollars. I'd actually rather not have either of them here but of the two I'd pick the guy that works. |
Lets not forget about inmates too. During my short career as a corrections officer, I noticed some of the longer term inmates would start acting out, and doing goofy shit, towards the the final couple years of their incarceration, so they could get documentation for a future claim. Some even admitted to it. Some have spent most of their lives in prison. No hope on the outside for a job, so they figure they may as well try to claim being wacky and apply for SSI (Or State benefits) when they get out.

Sorry to hear about your back, I know how that goes first hand I hope you find relief soon. I have also had 4 back surgeries-1 hemilaminectomy which didn't do a damn thing and 3 different surgeries to fuse various parts of my lumbar spine and to put in rods and pins. I have also had two anterior and 1 posterior cervical fusions, wire, screws and rods placement C3-C6. I work anywhere from 10-14 hours a day and fly globally all the time. I try to stay as active as possible. I think if I ever stopped pushing myself I'd die in a few years. So I exercise and push myself very hard. But I know so many people that like yo,u are really fucked up in the lower back area and all I can say is I hope and pray that somehow you get relief. I know its got to be hard on you |

What the fuck do you know about people on SSDI? I hope you never have to experience getting t-boned by a truck while on your motorcycle...and then having back, neck pain and headaches for the rest of your life. I suggest you STFU. ...and BTW, I don't take any opiates. |

my ex got a crak-pot doc <small town> to get her certified for fibromyalgia. <no she does not have it, doc has since gone t ail for medicaid fraud>
i actually turned her in as a fraud case. they were not even interested in reviewing her case. They simply do not care. |
| I'm not saying that everyone on disability is a fraud, just that there is a huge amount of it going on. I know of alot of people work under the table after they get disability (including one of my coworkers husbands). She complains about all the other losers, but then tells us about her husbands farming and hunting activities while we are paying him full disability. |
