Recently my insurance came due and I was astouned by the price. I'm 18 years old, concurent high school and college student, male,no accidents, tickets, moving violations etc. Great grades. I have a 95 Dodge Ram pickup, standard cab, v6, 5spd, no 4x4 :(. I pay $159. something a month via progressive. I had an agent run a quote through All state came back like $95 bucks, but they did a credit check and since I have no credit I was denied? Just curious as to if progessive is good, and I have above the bare minimum insurance, by just liability, not full.
Thanks |

If I were 18 years old, I would go to work for an insurance agent and that is what I would do if I had it to do over. Seriously. It might be the only gig better than mine. Agents must also have good sales skills. If you have them, you'd be good to go. If you think you'll just be mechanically quoting and writing policies from inbound calls, you've got another thing coming... |

I got a bunch of friends that are insurance agents....hell I had lunch with 2 of them today. The fact is, work hard when you are young, build your book, in 10 years, play golf, hunt, fuck off. It's pretty good gig. Of course you need to work hard and be intelligent for sure, but that is for any business. |
