I picked one up at the store today because I have always wanted a remote control helicopter. I was a bit skeptical due to the price and the fact that they are IR. I am pleased to say that they are fricking sweet. The only draw back is that you only get 5min or so of fly time (read, crash time) before it needs to be charged again.

I highly recommend picking one up.

Perhaps we can get Mr. Larue to come up with a mount?

They are not CCPM, and really just toys. You don't know what expensive is until you start flying real r/c helis.  I figure it's about $50 per week... not including the initial outlay... if you are working on 3d double that.

I know whatever you are into must be too expensive for me. I lost you after the first sentence. Perhaps if I find this thing to be sustained fun for long enough I may get into something more serious.

I think rate of fire would be paramount to round choice. I can hardly keep it in the air, so the haphazard flight may give the nod to spray and pray methods.

And of course you have a large basin, so you can maintain an elevation above your target.

I believe I bought one on a whim a couple years ago. Ended up throwing it away when I moved.

now imagine a .22 cal round would be to scale as compared to the Helo...... What size would it be?

If you think thats cool, go to a real hobby shop  and pick up an Eflite Blade Mcx. its about the same size as an air junk, with full control, replaceable parts, and you can get multiple batteries.
