| My BIL at age 68 has been almost crippled for years with rheumatoid arthritis, has been through multiple operations and has never complained once, not even in private according to my sister. Years ago some doctors said it may have been triggered from the six years he spent in Vietnam / Cambodia areas that had been sprayed in the early to mid sixties as a Force Recon Marine. He never made any kind of claim saying " my country owes me nothing". Any way, he fell night before last getting out of bed and injured his spinal cord. He can move but is now in more pain than before. Doctors say there is swelling to the spinal cord and may be sending him to a specialist in Gainesville from here in Pensacola. He bleeds red white and blue and has been a great husband to my sister and father to their kids. I could not have asked for better for my sister and am very proud to be his BIL. Prayers would be welcomed. |

Thank you very much guys. The doctors now say he has had a mild heart attack. They don't know if the attack was before or after the fall. They do know from the MRI that the arthritis has grown up to and is pushing against his brain stem. He is scheduled for surgery in Gainesville on Monday but have to determine if there is blockage from the heart attack that has to be dealt with first. |

Quoted: The doctors have determined the heart attack was from the past. There is some blockage but the doctors here want him in Gainesville tonight. He leaves within the hour. Thank you all very much for the thoughts and prayers. To the VA there or to Shands? Sure hope they get him fixed up soon.
