I run Trend Micro Anti-virus, PC Doctor Anti-spyware AND Spyboy search and destroy AND Malwarebytes but somehow this got through.

It keeps popping up saying I have malware (No shit!) and that I have to download their product to get rid of it.  It fakes a windows icon in the shortcuts at the bottom of the window.  It keeps popping up and interupting me as I type this, trying to put a fake "Malware Installer" on my comuter.

All my programs find this, but none of them will get rid of it from the computer!  Everytime I try to get rid of it, it puts PORN links as desktop shortcuts!

HELP PLEASE

I can feel you pain. I've gotten Malwear before that required me to format the hard drive. No Antivirus or anti spyware program could clean it.

REad this thread quickly.

Don't touch anything except task mgr. Close the offending program from within task mgr, it'll popback up if you have unknowningly clicked on anything that popped up, including the close x.

If you have malware bytes, run it now. If not, shutdown the computer and go to safe mode. Then download malware bytes and pray.

My buddy's computer became a brick after we restarted it. He had hit the close x on the popup and downloaded the whole dump.

I fixed one at work that got "total Security" malware by restoring to an earlier date. I downloaded several cleaners & they were all rendered useless by the program.

Kill it with fire...sounds like you have rodents inside your PC.

I had it last week.  Couldn't even pull up the stuff to go to an earlier install so I reformatted.

In today's computer world it seems like I am reformatting things a few times a year because I don't pay for a virus killer program and so far the free stuff just won't keep up on everything.

Sometimes I can go a long time without any issues and now and then I have issues real close together.

Back when I had a virus killer, norton I think, I had issues with it operating on my computer running xp pro and I still got problems with a virus now and then.

Norton is one of the worst pieces of software I have ever dealt with.  All other mainstream AV products are superior.  I don't understand their popularity, other than the fact that they seem to spend all their resources buying into being part of a new PCs pre-loaded software.  They sure don't spend it on their product.

Yep, it you get it DON'T click anywhere on the icon to close it. IF you click anywhere on the icon, it will download a virus on to your machine. If you can't do anything, reboot your machine. I had the same the problem, but I clicked on the icon. It took multiple passes of AVG, Maleware, & Spybot to get rid of it.

He's already got the virus (Vundo).  This is an example of scareware: tricking you into buying their antivirus program that doesn't do shit.

If you have the wherewithal, format/reinstall is the easiest, if not fastest, way to get rid of it.

Try a site called "what the tech" .com

While they seem to go through an odd routine with everyone they help they seem to know their stuff...they fixed me up in no time.

once you get the problem fixed, use Firefox, to surf the web and use the Firefox add-ons AdBlock and No Script.

i have been surfing the web for 2+ years no problems with the above combination, i highly recommend it.
