Anyone use this program?!?!? IS there some way to set it to do an overwrite pass, or passes, on the blank areas of a drive?!?!? Or does it only do the overwrites when you delete a file with it?!?!? I'm just paranoid. Strange, considering there really isn't anything on my computer that would be interesting to a Statie or Feeb computer geek from a TARU team IF they DID feel a need to root around in my computer. I'm just curious. Also, does the CCLeaner overwrite the new blank areas when you defragment? I did a defrag on the laptop, not realizing until after that it is set up to defrag weekly on Wednesdays. {A Vista feature.} So, it should have taken just a short time to defrag today, when I did it before I noticed it is automatic. Theoretically. However, it was still going when we got back from the Fire Department Banquet. Which makes me think maybe it does do a Guttman overwrite.....

hmmm learn something new every day. i'll have to check this out when get home. i've been using CCleaner and Glary utilities since day one of my new computer to keep it running smooth. if you are really paranoid, download TrueCrypt. and encrypt your porn sensitive work data. |
