I had in the past made my own game cameras. I am not in the loop on the new cameras on the market today. What is a good price point camera to get. I am not looking for the cheapest but I don't want to spend a ton.

Go to Cabellas web site. From there you can read customer reviews of the various cameras they sell. I just bought a Bushnell infra red camera and am happy with it so far. They run a couple hundred bucks.

I had noticed when I was shopping for one that none of them got very good overall reviews. I have a moultrie ir40 that has worked fine so far but they seem to have an iffy track record. It was under 200 bucks.

In that section is a game camera area.

In the camera subforum are lots of links, tips, and tacked turtorials on building your own cameras and very helpfull people to answer any questions you have.

Moultrie are good. Cuddiback are the "Colts" of the camera world, and I have not had good luck with Stealth Cam. So I would recommend Cuddiback or Moultrie, we have used them for years now.

I got the $50 one from Walmart.

It's OK, but the battery life is only about 2 weeks.
