My desk top PC is broke.A freind of mine tryed fixing it, new hard drive etc.Now its just shows the start up screen and is locked up.I am tired of throwing money at it that could be used for AR stuff.I have my lap top but like my desk top for my big screen and photo, video editing (Pennicle 12).CD/DVD read and write etc.Need 1TB hard drive,new windows 7 would be nice and $500 to $700 range for just the PC.Any suggestions?

Yeah what a pain when your computer craps out.This was built by my freind several years ago.ASUS motherboard,and i qucikly loaded up the 250GB hard drive.I am photo and Video heavy and use Pinnicle studio 12 to make movies.So he put a WD 1TB hard drive in and none of my stuff was on it.He had my 250 HD particianed and i would have to reload all my programs and i am not sure where everything went, i have moved twice since he build it.I did go buy Noton Ghost to copy my old hard drive and got C:\ copied before it craped out.never could get the D&E copied. I think i just want to start from scratch and maybe can reload some programs from my Ghost i loaded on a WD external hard drive.What i pain in the ass huh?
