There are 3 10 sided dice, numbered zero through 9. They must land in ORDER of red, white, blue according to dice color to win. What is the probability of win with any random number? I will throw 007 out as a target number.
Thanks! |

The question needs some more details. Are you saying that not only do you have to roll a certain number (such as 7) when adding up all the spots on the dices, the dice must also fall in a set order to win?
So, rolling a seven with red, blue, white wins, but seven with a red, white, blue loses? Never mind - question answered as I was typing. |

Like "1,2,3", in order, of red white blue to 10 sided dice color. See? Not so simple. I'm in a debate, RIGHT NOW, at the bar on this. ArfCom help meh! |

1st digit 9 fails 2nd digit 9 fails 3rd digit 9 fails or... 729:1 against or I could be mixing up my combinations and permutations ETA: I am. red die, 1 match, 9 fails / 10 possible white die, 1 match, 9 fails / 10 possible blue die, 1 match, 9 fails / 10 possible 1 : 999 against. |

Quoted: No, it's not. From the shaker, the red must come out first, then the white, then the blue. There are 6 different combinations for the colors of the dice to appear, so there are 6000 different outcomes possible.Quoted: reds are 'hundreds' whites are 'tens' blues are 'singles' To get 007 you will need a 0 red, a 0 white, and a 7 blue. That will occur once in out of the thousand possible combinations of 3 10 sided die. This is correct To get 0 0 7, there is a 1/6000 probability. |

let's see if I'm getting this right
you have 3 dice with 10 sides each one die is red, one die is white, one die is blue to win, they must land in the color order red-white-blue, creating any random number with their digits. I'd say it's 100% that you can throw them to land consecutively in the color pattern to win. Just toss the red first, followed by the white, then the blue.
edit: bah, your original problem didn't state you had to match a number to win, just ordering of colors. Further in the thread you change the rules so you have to match a called number also. Must've been a drinkin game. Quoted:
