Today i hear a commercial for one of the news networks, "going green in the bedroom"

WTF!!!

Yep...I'm so sick of this "green" nonsense I go out of my way to be "un green", even if it inconveniences me or costs more.

In celebration of green week, I turned on my AC and cranked the temperature to a cool 75 degrees.

I also turned the temperature in my freezer to -5

I drove with my car windows open and the AC blasting.

I ate fiber one bars to contribute to greenhouse emissions

I recycle.

I drive a Honda Accord because it gives me good gas mileage (as I travel to a different state everyday for work).

I put lead back into the land, where it came from, every other week.

I turn lights and other random things off when I leave a room so my utility bills are not outrageous.

That should be enough.

Guess what, guys? This is capitalism.

Green makes crazy money.

Several of the TV shows I've worked on recently have been home renovation shows about green homes, and the people are spending CRAZY coin on these projects. The funny thing is that the conversions are not extremely cost-effective, or will take a long time to show a financial impact. Most of the customers are upper middle class twits with more disposable income than sense. They are paying a LOT of money to feel better about themselves and more superior to their neighbors.

My pet peeve has been "Organic Foods."  Fucking morons... of course it's organic, just as all living things are organic.  Pretty soon, the word "Organic" will be gone the way the word "Gay" use to.

I work in an industry that is being force to 'go green' and it is two things 1. a money making opportunity for a lot of people, 2. at best, misguided and at worst, total bunk.

Explain to me why you get 'green points' for adding 12 bike racks to a senior housing complex?  Not exactly a good use of materials or money.

Well, to be fair, ozone depletion was and is at least measurable and real––-though it seems to have been largely reversed since the restriction of CFCs.  (Though the Mt. Pinatubo eruption appeared to do more damage than CFCs anyway.)

Fuck, you think you're tired of it in FL??  Try living in the fucking Northwest, the land native to the Yellow-striped, Tofu-eating Liberal Shitheel.  They used to only be observed huddling around coffee shops, asking for change on street corners, or in a rare display when a gay pride parade would spontaneously break out, but it's now become epidemic.

This over population is a direct consequence of the mass migration of the Red-Blooded Constitution Loving Patriot.  The exodus of this species from the Northwest in gigantic populations has allowed the Yellow-striped, Tofu-eating Liberal Shitheel to reproduce at an unacceptable rate.

If we can find Patient Zero, capture it, and keep it in a dungeon or otherwise separate it from the population of the Liberal herd, we may be able to reverse the trend.  You may also know this beast as ManBearPig.  An artists rendition below.

Good luck, and God speed to you all:

All this green bullshit is the fucking fad of the month. To be truelly green in the eyes of the Department of Energy standards is insanely exspensive and nearly impossible to achieve their standards. Hell, they cant even reach them on their existing buildings. They released a statement that by 2020 they want existing structures to reduce their energy consumption by 50% for heating and cooling. Thats impossible. It would require a building to be completely gutted and reinsulated, rewired, and reroofed to meet their standards. Thats the part the white house leaves out of their feel good bullshit green speeches. The rate of return makes it cost prohibitive for a building owner to even consider doing it. I work with the DOE for their roof designs and get to work the numbers daily.

I ask this all the time.

We sit at the apex of the food chain.Species at the top are fewer in number than the prey animals that are lower on the totem pole but humans are different.....we behave like a predator but we breed like prey animals. We can manipulate the environment to allow more of us to survive but even with that, we are starting to see the effects of so many of us, such as sport fish stocks being severely depleted.

Short of a global disaster that cull our numbers severely, the only way to fix this while avoiding stepping on peoples freedom, is to cut off the third world completely. They are where the largest breeding spikes are occuring and it is supported by all of the aid they receive. Cut them off and let them sink or swim on their own...nature will take care of it from there.

R.2454: "American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009"

Beginning one year after enactment of  H.R.  2454, you won't be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with its energy and water efficiency standards.

The "Cap & Trade" bill, already passed by the House of Representatives and pending in the Senate, will be the largest tax increase ever.  The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year.  No one is excluded. Mr. and Mrs. Middleclass America will pay even more since those with lower incomes can apply for a tax refund (even if they pay no taxes at all) to offset this new cost.

Under the Act you won't be able to sell your house without the permission of the EPA administrator.  Yes, you read that right.

Even if you have enough money to make the required upgrades to your home, or if your income is low enough that the government subsidizes your upgrades,  you can sell it only if the EPA Administrator approves it.   Even pre-fabricated homes are included.

To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency of your home measured.  Then the government will tell you what the new energy efficiency requirements are and you will be forced to make modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements. Then you will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a "label" in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner.  If  you don't get a high enough rating, you can't sell.

And, the EPA Administrator is authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic energy efficiency increases built into the Act.

The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap & Trade program (aka the "American Clean
Energy and Security Act of 2009") and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations and standards he alone determines to be in the government's best interest. Requirements are set low initially so the bill will pass Congress; but thereafter the Act requires that there be annual increases in energy efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings.

Sect.  202: Building Retrofit Program mandates a national retrofit program to increase the energy efficiency of all existing homes across America. The Act allows the government to give you a grant of several thousand dollars to comply with the retrofit program requirements if you will meet certain energy efficiency levels.. Who will be eligible for these grants? The government will decide who qualifies to receive the grants. As long

as the Obama Administration is enforcing the Act, you can expect such requirements as "can't have an income of more than $50K per year," or  "home selling price can't be more than $125K," etc.

Sect..  204: Building Energy Performance Labeling Program requires that "at least 90 percent of the residential market within 5 years after the date of the enactment of this Act" shall be measured, rehabbed, re measured and labeled with its energy efficiency performance. The EPA administrator will get $50M each year, and the Secretary of the Department of Energy will get an additional $20M each year, to enforce the labeling program. You will be require d to post the label in a conspicuous location in your home and will not be allowed to sell your home without having this label.

The government estimates the cost of measuring the energy efficiency of your home should cost only $200 each time.

[Note: When the California auto smog inspections first started, they were to cost $15.  Now they cost $50 and up for the inspection and certificate.]

Sect. 304: Greater Energy Efficiency in Building Codes establishes new energy efficiency guidelines for the National Building Code and mandates that 1 year after enactment of this Act, all state and local jurisdictions must adopt the National Building Code energy efficiency provisions or must obtain a certification from the federal government that their state and/or local codes have been brought into full compliance with the National Building Code energy efficiency standards.

Don't feel bad about plastic.  Plastic is very "green".  Plastic saves weight, saves energy, prevents shipping loss, extends product life, etc.  Plastic materials are irreplaceable in many applications.

Read the book, "Saving the Planet with Pesticides and Plastic" by Dennis T. Avery.  Very well worth the read.
