[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Aggressive Flashlight (Page 1 of 2)

What's the hive's recommendation for a reasonable price (i.e., not Surefire )?
For illustration purposes only (I'm assuming "Nebo" is cheap Chinese crap at $15.99, but this is what google turned up):
I'm looking for a light small enough to carry unobtrusively on, for example, a college campus, but solid enough to be useful defensively. |

Just get a surefire G2 in LED. Personally I could care less if the bezel has those teeth on it. It would still suck to get hit with a metal flashlight teeth or not. It looks more PC without them. http://ee.ar15.com/ItemView.aspx?iid=37782 Quoted: Because many people are suckers for name brands. The reason why people are willing to pay for surefire is cause the company makes a high quality product, does a lot of research, and has an amazing warranty policy. Surefire lights are mounted on almost every US LEO and soldier's firearm. |

why not surefire? my E2D defender kicks ass Waaaaay out of my price range. There's no way something just as good can't be found for a more reasonable price. If there was something out there that was just as good, then why would anyone still buy Surefire? |

Quoted: Some of us buy Surefire because: 1. Made in USA-check 2. Greatly support US Mil/LE personnel-check 3. Well made-check 4. Great CS-check 5. Great warranty-check Shit I lost a tailcap for my G2L I called them up to pay for a replacement, they just sent me a new one for free, I had it two days later. |

There are 1000's of chicom junk out there for cheap, and yeah most are brighter than surefire's, and cost less than half the price. But there IS a reason for that. You can find a Surefire G2 for like $38 and buy one of these http://www.operationparts.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=GGG-1185&click=2 |

Maglites... they make a very distinctive sound, too... ![]() I lol'd. When my buddy was stationed at Oceanside he said they would go down sometimes and work with the border patrol and during the conversation I heard the word RUH ROH several times. I finally asked him what RUH ROH was and he replied that it's the sound a Maglite makes when you TICKLE an illegal across the RUH ROH SOME MO with it. Might wanna edit that. I can't recall exactly what happened last time it was spelled out like that, but it was not good I don't think. |

Go to http://dealextreme.com. They have a ton of SureFire clones for cheap. I have one and it's very bright, but it doesn't feel like a SureFire.
They ship from Hong Kong, so it takes a long time. |

I think that the argument could be made that the Bose name is not nearly as well regarded amongst professionals who use audio equipment in their jobs as the Surefire name is regarded amongst professionals who use flashlights for their jobs. |
Genius. |

The purpose of a fleshlight is for illumination, not hitting things. But if you must have an "aggressive face" look into the Pentagonlight Porcupine and see if there is still one floating around out there.
He obviously means "illumination" as in "enlightenment." Surely you won't dispute the utility of the mighty fleshlight for that purpose?

Surefire /thread Buy quality, cry once. Not impressed by them, I don't care how many 'operators' carry them. I've had two and they've gone TU. Last flashlight I bought cost 3 bucks and change and the fucker still works. Warranty???? What happened? Didn't Surefire give you new ones or at least fix the old ones? |
