If a college wants to know *every* other school I went to and want's transcripts from them all, are they really going to know if I only give them the two major schools I attended and don't pay the stupid fees to have 3 schools transfer the one art class I took at each which is irrelevant to my major anyway? Or is there some secret database that shows I went to these other colleges that will leave the new school wondering what I am "hiding"?
I hate academic fees of pointlessness... hoops and BS. |
| Depends on how competetive it is to get in. If they are merely looking for ways to drop people, then I would certainly pony up the money and have the transcripts sent. Even tho the art classes aren't in your major, you may be able to use them for the bullshit liberal studies type stuff you need for a degree? Will the credit hours from the two you mention give you enough credits to register as a higher classman? |

No, and there is little chance they will find out. Remember, however, that at most colleges/university's lying on an application is grounds for denial. And Electronrider is correct, if they transfer in you may be able to use the credit for general education requirements. If it was me, I would pony up the money and get as many credits transferred in as possible. |

The "secret database" is the National Student Clearinghouse in northern Virginia. My fiancee used to work there. If they specify EVERY other school, I would either: do EVERY other school, like they want, or just call the admissions office and explain your situation and see what they say. Transcripts from 3 schools...that'll cost you what an extra $25 or so? The consequences for "lying" or "withholding info" are severe...why take the risk. |

Quoted: They know only what you show them. this just make sure you tell the other schools that your information is set to private. schools are not allowed to give enrollment status or acknowledgement of prior enrollment... think of all the 18 year old college kids with crazy stalker parents or exes, any information could be a death sentence if you are trying to hide from someone.

NSC seems only usefull for verying a claim you made, not proving you failed to make a claim.

That's what I figured. I don't need the credits (I have waaaaaaay more than I need). I do need $ |
