What kind of lauxiliary lights do you have on the frontend of your truck. KC,Hella,Lightforce....... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/ARsR4ME/047-1.jpg It's a little bear. ![]() Nice front porch on your truck there.
I agree with the first reply, get the "4-Hi mod" so you can activate high and low beams at the same time. That's usually sufficient as a bandaid for a while. |

Headlights are Hella Euro bulbs with a ARB headlight/Relay harness to feed em full power from the alternator...you'd be suprised how much of a difference it made to em... DO I use em much wheelin...No, I mostly use em when I have a 3-4 am concrete pour on a jobsite Afraid of the dark or something?

Lightforce are awesome and Hellas are great lights also.
On my trail rig I have plain old KC lights. Hard to argue with a 23 year warranty: http://www.kchilites.com/warranty.aspx |

Hard to argue with a 23 year warranty: http://www.kchilites.com/warranty.aspx How hard are they to install, and could I install them on a stock vehicle, without any problems with bat drain? Furthermore, how would I wire bakcup lights and front lights? On the same circuit or what? |

Quoted: Lightforce lights are insanely bright. Also the beam is adjustable from a full flood to a pencil spot. Interchangeable lens covers (read: IR) are sweet as well. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-12/542530/Matrix.jpg That'd be pretty awesome if you had the NVGs to go with them..that would be priceless on a BOV. I see alot of pictures of our SOF trucks with IR lights on the front, that shit is bad ass. |

Does that actually replace the center section of the bumper? |

Hella 4000's. Mounted on top of the front bumper with no covers for 3+ years and they still haven't broke or died. Not the brightest in the world but they do their job on the cheap. How do you have them wired up? Mine are bright as hell. Heavy duty wiring and switches, wired to the alternator. |

None.... All my lights are UNDER my 4x4, because I use mine... If I need lights under my truck I am in very serious trouble. ![]() Nah, they're handy as hell when wheeling at night. Oh they're handy, but the only time they'd be handy on my 23' long truck is finding where to put the high-lift. |

I had some Hella 550FF's mounted on my front bumper. Unfortunately after only a year of offroading in Colorado the damn piece of shit plastic mounts cracked. And once the mount cracks the lights fall right off. I'm sorry but the HELLA mounts seem awfully cheap, when after driving rough roads etc the mounts break and the light falls off. Now mind you, I never hit anything, this is just from driving hundreds of miles of forest roads all over Colorado in a year.
I think next go round I'll get some Lightforce lights and see how they treat me. The hellas seem like bottom shelf disposable lights. I know I'll never buy anymore. Hopefully you boys running Hellas have better luck than I did. ETA: You can see how I had my lights mounted on my avatar. At the time I took that picture they hadnt yet went to shit. |

Interesting i could be lacking in wiring department going to have to check again i don't even remember where i picked up the + on the relay. You are taking it right from the battery lug on the alternator? |

What bumper is that? |

Aside from my dad, nobody else wheels their truck that I hang out with. I agree completely. They're definitely useful, just not for me.
Has anybody ever put some LED-type lights underneath? I do want some under my framerails and in my wheel wells when I have to turn wrenches in the dark since it's dark by like 5:30 now. |
