This is a Murder Mystery Movie starring Rutger Hauer who plays a German Policeman who was a WWII Wehrmacht Vet who
comes across a Murder and follows the trail....
One can understand that once the killers have achieved their goals...a cleanup would be inevitable...just in order to preserve the Lie..

Yup, the Movie left out the revulsion that the Main Character felt when he realized that the warm socks he got while in the U boats  were made from human hair harvested at a Concentration Camp. That was a powerful part of the book to me.

Another good what-if book is Philip Roth's "The Plot Against America", about what if Lindbergh ran against and defeated FDR in 1936? Very scary.

As popular as Linbergh was at that time, he just may have won. With Charles Lindbergh as POTUS during the late 30's and into the 40's, it would have been interesting times indeed. One can only wonder what would have happened.
