I just picked up a LaRue Tactical Stealth Sniper upper.  I know that 1 of the weak points of the AR system is the extractor, and was wondering if anyone knows if I need to use polymer D-ring in addition to the spring and blue rubber insert?

IIRC the D ring would replace the rubber O ring.  You need the spring no matter what.

Might want to shoot it with the load you plan on using and if it runs your GTG.

Just keep an extra extractor onhand.  They aren't as terrible as everyone thinks they are.

Extractors break on almost all firearms, anyway.  It's like the brakes on your car, it's a wear part that you should expect to replace every few thousand rounds.

If your upper is a midlength or rifle-length gas system, the d-ring is usually not needed.

LaRue has a habit of sending out uppers that run as-is, from what I've gathered.

I run the black inserts, but I'm sure LaRue wouldn't use blue inserts if they didn't do the job.

I wouldn't add any kind of o-ring or d-ring.

Your BCG will run just fine the way it is.
