| Just got off the phone with my bank. I was checking the status of my business account online this evening and some scammers tried to debit $955 from my account! I immediately called customer service and they sent me to the bank fraud division. They said this company apparently tried the same same on the 19th with a larger amount and were declined. They canceled the card and stopped the $955 authorization. Said they would send me the appropriate paperwork and if something did sneak through I wouldn't be responsible for it. I was really happy with the service from US Bank. I have had the account for a couple of years now and they have always been good to deal with, but how can I increase my online security? I have been running the latest version of AVG, I just loaded the Sunbelt firewall someone recommended on here and I started using Firefox. I don't make allot of online purchases and when I do I only use Paypal or a reliable site I am familliar with. Anything else I can do? |
