I'm continually amazed by the sheer arrogance that some people show, particularly among the left, they think there so important, that our species, our tiny species that has not even been here 1,000,000 years yet, not even the blink of an eye in geological time, is somehow important, that our planet is even important in the grand scheme of things, and that somehow we, and whatever we do have any effect on anything at all in the wider sense, and that any of there ideas will somehow change everything.  They think that they, that any of us are somehow all important, and that all this, our entire World, and entire Universe is somehow all one big accident, that there is no design at all in it, and that they, and there opinions somehow matter, they overlook in all of this just how tiny, and insignificant that they really are.

We couldn't have been here 1,000,000 years ago as the world is not 1,000,000 years old.

The world was created in the mid 70's when matter was assembled in the funkadelic bass lines the creator Bootsy Collins used to bring life and light into existence.

There is no proof of any advanced "intelligent" life in the Universe other than us.   We have the power to destroy the entire planet where this life resides.  I'd say we are pretty flippin significant....  How do you know that we can not effect No raindrop believes it is tha cause of the flood.

Yeah, we can destroy the whole planet but we can't balance a fucking budget. How stupid can we possibly be?

Actually we don't even have anywhere even remotely close to the ability to destroy the Earth, that's part of the point I was trying to make, even if we fired off every nuke on the planet simultaneously, we would barely even scratch the surface of the Earth, we don't even have enough to destroy our own Species, Civilization, MAYBE, but that's it.

Actually, we, this tiny insignificant species has no proof. That doesn't mean that there is no proof, just that we are incapable of finding it. That fact that humans can not find the proof means nothing other than we are primitive in the grand scheme of things. Who do we think we are to say there is no life out there, just because we can't find it?

I agree completely with Small_Arms_Collector.

What would even give you the impression that civilization could continue to function after 2100? Water and food shortages are growing acute and the population continues to explode exponentially. The Third World will envelope the West and humanity will revert to subsistence agriculture.

I wish I could be as optimistic as you.

I think that we're (Humans) REALLY important in ANY consideration of the universe.

Accident or not (As an Atheist I don't believe in a "Designer") WE (HUMAN BEINGS) are the only sentient creatures (As-Far-As-We-Know) who've been able to communicate a history of self-awareness from one generation to another (Writing).

The smallest intelligent human has been given, in their few short years of consciousness on this rock a gift from fate greater than than ANYTHING some bag of burning gas (In it's eons of existence) ever received.

The universe, with all it's epic proportions is a dead, unknowing mass of atoms.

Humans THINK and IMAGINE and DREAM and PLAN.  To feel inferior to (albeit HUGE!!!) a bunch of hydrogen atoms continually reshaping themselves based on the laws of physics is about the same as feeling inadequate to a stone castle from the 11th century that'll stand another thousand yrs after I've ceased to think......."IT" (The castle) has never pondered anything or written a poem or a song or taken the time to considered itself...it IS a pile of rocks after all

Humans ARE at the pinnacle of the universes wonders....AFAIC.......

I see the insignificance of this planet and its inhabitants and wonder how anyone can think that is was specially designed just for them.  It just seems to me that the evidence lends itself to it all being an accident than otherwise.
