Looking for some wood glue in a box in our basement, I discovered a pager my sister had when she got out of college.

Does anyone still have a pager? Can you still get coverage for a pager?

Yep, you can still buy pagers and get good coverage.

I know a couple of guys who still use pagers with text messaging for work.

I found two pagers that I had in HS about a month ago.

I used to wear 6 of them on my belt in HS.  One for each ho.

We use motarolas at work on the ambulance. Work great

I've seen them on COPS, but I was wondering if the average Joe can still go and buy a pager, but why would he want to if there are cell phones?

When I was in high school, all the cool kids had pagers. By my senior year (1997), they'd begun to make the switch to cell phones.

Supposedly they're real popular for IEDs.

I graduated in '04, and only knew of one person with a pager. Everyone had phones.

what are you, a dope dealer?

don't believe the hype

they're a fad, just like cell phones and bluetooth, and the only people that have them want to show off.

Unfortunately, I carry a pager for a week once every 3 weeks.  4 months out of the year I have the damned thing.

I'm a surgeon and a drug dealer so I definetly use them still.

Docs, clinical pharmacists, RTs, most 'roaming' professionals in a hospital carry them.

I curse mine, which likes to go off just as I'm about to eat lunch.

Understandable, but where do docs get them nowadays? I have never seen pagers in cell phone stores, and when Verizon used to be Ameritech around here they used to have pagers and cell phones.

Hypothetically, can I get my sister's activated? It's from the late 90s/early 2000s.
