I scored a 20 on the introvert side of the Myers-Briggs introvert/extrovert scale.

The reason is because the scale didn't go to 30.

BTW, nothing is more annoying than an extreme extrovert who makes it his personal mission to convert introverts into extroverts.

Very introverted when I was younger. Most people who know me would tell you I'm an extrovert now...

I'm using I & E as defined by The MB personality system - I don't believe your type changes; now I will go along with the notion that most people are better able to access their inferior functions as they get older.

comfortably between introvert and extrovert.  kind of like a hermit crab, sometimes i'm in the shell, sometimes i'm out.  it depends on my mood.

You know that the Myers-Briggs test is inaccurate, right? It's been found to give people different results weekly.

I've taken the MBTI three times and online copies of the test a dozen or so times and my typology has been fairly consistent as INFP (Introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, Perceiving).  I've read numerous descriptions of the various types and INFP describes me perfectly.

I'm also very shy but we are often forced to adapt our true personalities to the real world and most people who have only known me within the past 15 or so years don't believe me when I tell them I'm shy and an introvert.  I always explain to them that no matter how extroverted and outgoing I might appear to them, inside I'm extremely uncomfortable during many of my social interactions and often go home from those interactions completely exhausted.  Thank god that when we had our house built my wife designated one of the spare bedrooms as my "Man-Cave".  That's where I go to recharge my mind and my wife understands and respects that.

To add more info to my original reply:

INTJ, with strong emphasis on the I and N.  Last test I took had me at an 89% preference on Introversion.  Actually, I show a heavy preference for all except the J, judging, type.  I'm just barely a J, a different mood could change it over to P.
