Does anybody know how much the ACR went for that was auctioned a few weeks ago?

Bushmaster's site doesn't say anything about MSR, yet.  Only:

"We know that all of our Bushmaster fans have been anxiously awaiting
the release of the new ACR, so we want to give you guys a quick update.
The ACR testing and analysis programs are running right on schedule. We
are running it through every imaginable scenario to ensure that it’s
absolutely ready to be released. Each day brings us closer and closer
to the official launch, which is slated for the first half of 2010.
Until then, sign up for our
monthly newsletter for more updates and information as it comes available

They auctioned off an ACR?  I heard they raffled three at the most recent silencer shoot but was not aware that any more had entered the civilian market.

I believe one got raffled and one got auctioned.

2K+ probably $50 cheaper on average than the SCAR L.  Just a guess.  Bend over, lube up, and open your wallet.

Auctioned one went for $7500, I was there and have met the guy who bought the gun a couple of times prior.

I think I will pass.

I just hope that the basic version doesn't exceed $2000. However, with the extended development period, it might be more

expensive than a lot of people are hoping for!

I thought MSRP on the SCAR 16S was $2500-2600?   I agree it's too much money but I would consider something in the $1000-1500 range for an ACR.

For that much I will look at other options.....hopefully it's around 1,500 bucks, but I aint holding my breath

Shit I've been contemplating a $1700 optic here lately so 2k wouln't be out of the question if they are as good as I hope.

I had hoped they would start at $1500.  This probably means they will retail for $2000+.

The pricing on these new proprietary-design rifles really isn't the
"bend over" some make it sound like.  Get a monolithic rail upper.
Build it gas-piston.  Then a quality complete lower.  Then get a Magpul
PRS (or something similar) that folds.  And decent BUIS, and a mag or two, and whatever else
the manufacturers include in their rifle boxes.  Warranty is nice also.  You're not going to do
much better, if at any better at all.  I'm not trying to say it's small beans or a negligible amount of money, but I do think it's worth pointing out that they're not just hosing consumers.

$1500 was the estimate 1-2 years ago from the Magpul guy demoing it, well before the Scar L set the new precedent for price.  I highly doubt even the entry level model will be less than $1800.

They can keep it. Lots of hope and change for sale at a premium to the same guys who put a down payment on the Shrike.

The SCAR on the other hand can actually hold a group. If it wasn't for the boot I'd be on it. FNH-USA knows how to make a weapon.
