I collect Benchmade folders [with in the 3.5 plus blade range] and have been since 2000. Anyway I'm just one knife short of a complete set, and actually I 'm a little worried....what now? Anybody here collect something and "finish" what they started ? I realize Benchmade will make a new knife that I will just have to have....but I still a little "let down" about it.

I find the hunting for something is half the fun of it........Took me awhile to find a lot of the older pieces in my collection.

Movies and still collect baseball cards.

I was thrilled this past weekend because I finally have a Craig Biggio rookie card after all these years.
I don't even know how many I have. I'm sure it's worth quite a bit altogether.

The movie collection is about 500 strong in DVD, VHS and BETA (1 tape) format.

Eta:

I used to collect lamps, but my whole collection got left behind when I moved and I haven't bought any lamps since.

I also like bier Steins and mugs (beer or coffee).  I had this wonderful pair of bier Steins that my parents brought back from Munich in the '70s, but I think my mom sold them before I could object.  Most of my mug collection got destroyed in the last relationship.

I used to collect coins, mainly peace dollars and my goal was to get every one is grade MS-60 or better, and then when I finally had it, the hobby just sorta petered off and I became un-interested. Then they came out with the state quarters and I started up again and completed my jefferson nickels, roosevelt dimes, mercury dimes, and all the rest that I could afford.
Now I have almost zero interest in buying more. They're just gonna come out with more!!

Yup, except Ebay. I can't stand getting outbid by someone w/ a faster connection during the snipping though.

Yep. The hunt is as important as the find.   TT

I keep (collect) wine corks from bottles I've had.  Probably have a thousand.

I keep (collect) my german shepherds shedded coats (he's a double short hair).  He sheds heavily 2x a year and there's a place online that will turn it into thread and knit you a hat or scarf.  My mother helped me raise him so thought she'd like that someday.  Only up to one trash bag full and he's 4.

I collect a number of things.  Some of the collections span two or more decades.

A wise man one advised me:  "Don't buy anything you aren't going to display."   Years later I realized just how wise this advice truly is.

A very tiny fraction of my glass collection:

Among other things, I collect elements.

Uranium

Iridium

Bromine

Chlorine

Iodine

Sodium

Silicon

Also cesium, beryllium, gold, calcium, magnesium, tungsten, and boring things like carbon, sulfur, metals like tin, bismuth, lead, zinc, etc.

I actually made the chlorine, bromine, iodine and silicon myself with certain simple chemical reactions.

The only thing I can really say I collect is business cards. I always write down who they are, how I met them, then it's easier to call them up if I need to in the future.

Used to collect baseball, baseketball, football, and hockey cards. Still have the collection, collecting dust in boxes.

Guns, obviously... I also accidentally started a shot glass collection, after my friend (current girlfriend) bought me one while she was on vacation like eight years ago.  Ever since, people have been bringing them back for me.  It's kind of a fun collection –– they don't take up a lot of space, they're easy to display, and there are some pretty cool designs.

My main collection is books.  I don't collect a particular genre, but I am accumulating a collection of old/antique books, and there are always other books I'm on the lookout for.  Takes up lots of room, they can be expensive, and it's something not a ton of people appreciate, but they make me happy and I find a lot of value in them.  And I never have to worry about running out of ones to look for
