Ok I'll show my ignorance, what is DU? It's a website for cookie fans ....if I recall correctly the website's full name is lemonparty.com - a celebration of lemon bars. |

My daughter has sold over 400 boxes in three weeks of pre-sales. They don't even come in for another month here. I swear she's Alex P. Keaton all over. She hit up the local ice cream store and got them to buy 4 cases in one fell swoop for making Thin Mint ice cream. That's friggin' 48 boxes in one stop. She's a pro and still under 8 yrs old. Last year her troop sold 30 CASES (12 boxes per case) of cookies in a three hour slot one day in front of the local Wal-Mart. People sure are suckers for cute kids selling cookies!!! M |

March 2003 prior to the Iraq invasion, me and about 12,000 other mobilized USAR & ARNG troops are sitting around the old WW2 barracks at Fort Lewis Wa. after a day of training. We hear a knock at the door and there are 2 Girl Scouts going door-to-door selling their cookies. What a perfect captive audience, I bet they sold 40K cases.
When their parents found out (they had an older GS drive them around the barracks) they refused to let them deliver them to the barracks and put up flyers to have us pick them up from the PX. Gotta admire their business sense. Ed |
