80 Years ago! Then the AMA got into the act, and destroyed the man who found it. Of course the AMA was supported by the State.

Not commenting on the virtue or lack of same displayed by the AMA, but I find the idea that Rife actually had a cure for cancer to be most doubtful.
Even assuming the AMA had succeeded in supressing it, that wouldn't stop researchers in Europe and ESPECIALLY in Asia from going balls-out to rediscover it.
In the 60s-80s, the Soviets were pursuing every single fringe-science idea ever thought of, up to and inculding claravoyance and cold fusion.  Yet somehow they were never able to duplicate 1920s technology?
I don't buy it.  The whole "harmonics" thing smacks of pseudoscience and even if it were discovered that cancer was caused by a virus, that would not be a sign of an impending cure...we have NO cure for virii.  AIDS is caused by a virus, but that doesn't mean we're about to cure it.  So is the common cold.
No, this guy might have been hounded by the AMA without good cause, but I am very very skeptical of the idea that he had an actual cure for cancer.

The cut-and-paste-ninja strikes again!

BTW, did you know that cancer cures smoking?

You actually believe this crap?  Here's a tip - just because you saw it on the internet doesn't mean that it's true.  For instance:

I forwarded this to an Optometrist that I know (it is good to have doctors as shooting buddies) and he is really current on alot cool medical info.

I sent the link with the basic note: "This is interesting, not sure how accurate it is, what is your opinion?"

Well, his responce suprised me.

Unfortunately, much of this is TRUE --- the AMA is THE most powerful lobby in the world -- we Optometrists should know: we've been forced to fight 'em for years!!!!!!!!!!!! (along with the rest of the non-MD professions!!!)--- they are essentially controlled by the FDA and the Pharm. companies/their profits.  We've been able to make a ton of in-roads in the past 25 years due to informed patients/consumers and the proliferation of information in the new "electronic age" --- tough to keep control/manipulate in the days of people who can disseminate the alternative/true versions of things in rapid fashion.  Wish we could get a lot of the things invented to allow patient's useage, but still slows the process down whenever/however possible ( and there is a School at U of Chicago named for him!!).

Note, he doesn't know about the cure of cancer part but as you can see he backs-up the sentiment of the article about the AMA.

I am extremely skeptical about this story.

For one thing, the AMA has no power to "close down" anyone. The FDA, however, can refuse to approve a treatment, or device. As a lobby, the AMA has a lot of power, but their membership is dwindling as they become more political. I know of a couple of MD's who think they're a joke.

But the clincher is this statement:

In doing research for this article, I have come to the conclusion that Rife was so far advanced over currently available theories that he could not explain what he was doing.

That's a classic snake oil ploy. If one cannot explain one's science and provide empirical proof of efficacy, you basically have to assume that person is full of BS.

Hey schoolboy, try phrasing it this way:

"This article claims that a Cure for Cancer was found 80 Years ago! ......."

That way you don't look like such a gullible fool.

Steele_Rat,

I know you guys will probably bash me for this, but not ALL "black helicopter" sightings are mythical. Take a look at these links. I live in Corpus Christi, and saw one of these "exercises" first-hand...
