| I am sure this is being discussed somewhere here, but my search skills are apparently weak. Can someone point me in the right direction? |

You mean like this?

I think the previous threads about this have long since made it into the archive. The most recent thread I can recall had something to do with stainless steel/aluminum cased ammo. More interesting than the ammo aspect (IMO) is the barrel. "Alumina fiber wrapped, ceramic metal composites..." The prototypes I just read about (Linked off the wiki) look about as rigid as a wet noodle. |

It's not caseless... It's polymer telecoping cased.... The bullet and case-neck are down inside the case, they move foreward when the round is fired... |

Quoted: That is exactly what I am talking about, but I cannot believe this has not been scrutinized and digested fully on Arfcom already. Where are the threads? It's been discussed in some of the IAR threads, by those of us who think the Marines are f in la-la land with their magazine-fed auto-rifle replacement for the SAW.... |

Worked for this guy: http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/3921/barokinawa2.jpg Yeah, but that's one reason they replaced them. You ever watched the old bar training videos?
Gotta say... Dave's right on this one. |
