Sometimes I forget that I may may be of more use to the members of this board by trying to help instead of trying to promote my own point of view. Surprising as at may be, I have much more to say than I let on, and on this board which I respect. I bite my tongue a lot. If I can say that I have helped a newbie or someone else that asked for help, my day is made. I have always regretted getting to arguments and flamers, but never regretted helping another person. Just a thought. |

raf, Sorry to hear about your Mom and what ever threatened her life, whether accident, illness or the actions of others. But maybe we all should adopt your attitude and make ourselves available to our newbies and less informed members. Good luck with Mom. Beachboy |

Thanks, Dscott. I'm calm because I learned how wrong a bad temper can lead one. I damn near killed a man for punching me in the mouth twice. Next thing I knew, four guys were prying me off this Mafia-type, my hands around his throat. I could have destroyed my life at the age of 17. |

Raf, sorry to hear about your Mother's situation, but great to hear that it's been resolved! I have always found your posts to be on point and while I may not always agree with them (e.g. Andersonville...), I have always thought your views were honest, forthright, and helpful! raf: Hope your mother (& you) are doing better. Thought you might appreciate this: Ways to become intimate with the divine intelligence, or God: 1) selfless service, doing good to others without a desire for personal gain. Even one act of selfless service everyday can bring a great spiritual transformation. 2) Remembrance, remembrance of God, remembrance of our purpose in life, and remembrance through prayer and meditation. 3) Satsang: Satsang literally means a gathering of people seeking the truth. I wonder if the gathering of people here at AR15 seeking the truth qualifies? Closer to God via AR15? I like it! Lord knows we strive to find the truth in a great many issues these days.... |
