| Frequently Whermacht troops would be seen toting a captured PPsH or a Tokarev rifle, and there were plenty of instances of troops using captured weapons on both sides. Has anyone ever seen a picture of a Tommy using a battlefield pick up Garand? It struck me just now that I never have, and it seems they would have if given the chance. |

The Brits did recieve some Garands, but since you mention it I've never seen a photo of one in use either. I believe most went to the special forces, commandoes and such.
As far as battlefield pick up, there were relatively few battles where Brits and US were in close proximity to each other. Market Garden probably the biggest. Otherwise they tended to stay in their own sectors. |
