| im pretty sure i have viral pinkeye. My eye is pink(not red), no viscous secretion, no odd colored tearage, had a cough and my eyes would clear up some, then after my contacts were in for a while they'd get real irritated so i ditched them. Went to the optomotrist today, looked at them for 3 seconds with a light and wrote a perscription. What is it? an antibiotic? acttually im going to my car to tell u what it says. back in a min. |

viral will not be tx with antibiotics. if it is bacterial it will be. yea, thats why im askin, i know im not a doctor and not to self diagnose, but i researched for an hour, he did 3 sec... but then again hes a doc, im still in college .
perscription says moxitril. I havnt taken drugs for years and like to keep it that way(bar alcohol and nicotine). If its to relieve symptoms im not gonna take it. If its to cure i will, thats what im tryin to learn. Thanx guys. |
| Are you sure it does not say Maxitrol? Maxitrol is a combination product containing Neomycin/polymixin b and dexamethasone. In short a combination of antibiotics and a steroid for inflammation. If he prescribed maxitrol it is for a bacterial infection not a virus. |

Pink eye creates eye goo by the ton. If this isn't happening then its not pink eye. me: is it pinkeye? him: its a form of it. Quoted:
