Im shopping around for a backpack for use as a bug-out-bag, but would like to find one that is relatively narrow that has MOLLE loops on the sides. They dont necessarily have to be all the way up and down the sides, just so they are present near the top and bottom of the pack so I can stick a scabbard to one side. Hydration pouch would be a big plus.

I've already checked BLACKHAWK! and Maxpeditions sites (I have a versipack from them that I use as a camera bag) and as of right now the Maxpedition Vulture II is in the lead.

The pack is not going to be my primary means of carrying gear, but will be on my person most of the time, so day packs/assualt packs are perfectly acceptable so long as they have MOLLE loops on the sides. I am going to be carrying a couple days worth of food and my primary first aid kit in the pack, along with some spare ammo, so I don't need a whole lot of volume.

The Medic pack at Tactical Tailor is a pretty good example of what Im shooting for, but unfortunately its not avialible in OD Green which is what all my other gear is in.

Maxpedition makes a well built pack. As long as it fits you good, you can't really go wrong with one. I planned my Condor II out with attaching various pieces of gear to the molle for ease of use and it's an excellent pack for it. The Vulture II just gives you a little more inside room. I'm probably going to pick one up myself soon as another BOB/camping pack.

I love the versipack I picked up from them, so believe me when I say Im convinced of their quality!

Im just concerned that the Vulture might be more room than I need. It looks like you were able to make good use of the side loops on that Condor, so one of those might be just what the doctor ordered!

It might. It fits my body well and the sleeping bag at the bottom rest right in my lower back. Altogether making a light and very functional rig.

Just ordered one on Monday and it should be here tomorrow. My Pygmy Falcon finnaly broke a zipper after 8 years of hard use. It's damn good gear......
