Tomorrow I start the SIU program on Charleston AFB to finish a bachelor degree.
I've put it off too long, underestimating the importance of it when I was younger. Sure, I got some schooling in over the years, but I was an educational gypsy, never completing a degree. So, as I approach my 50th birthday (in October), I'm entering into an intensive year of academics. This will mean less play (range) time, less ARFCOM surfing, and more time in the books and writing. At least my company covers 100% tuition and 50% of books. As a coworker who went through the program said, "The good news is that it's just a year. The bad news, it's a year." I'll check in from time to time, but usually I'll just be running in circles with my hair on fire. For any of you young guys who might read this, Go To School! Don't put it off. |

good luck Thanks, Dave. I figure if somebody else is paying for it, I might as well take advantage of it. Besides, it will make me more marketable. Things are getting quiet at the plant. We currently have enough business on the books for me to just about finish this program. |
