WOW.  I have been out of school now 10 years and just recently have seen some of my old classmates.  Damn they grew.  Both the guys and girls.  Why do people let their selves go like that.  I mean most of the people I knew where athletes and very fit.  But for the most part they BLEW UP.  Anyone else have a hard time getting over this fact of life?

Wait until you've been out for 25 and see some of them...

I know what you mean.

Funny thing is, most of the women I went to high school with have maintained their figures. Some of them look even better after a couple of kids than they did in high school...that whole "more developed" MILF look, if you're tracking.

The dudes, though? Christ...I kept checking my six for Sgt. Jelly Donut to make a cameo.

Too many years of soft living, I imagine.

I keep getting calls and postcards from both H.S. & College.

I disregard them all.

As far as I'm concerned, I went dark forever.

I moved across texas and just by chance went back home for a family visit.  It was a crying shame to see what people do to them selves.

The funny thing is.  That they would not have been caught dead with an unfit guy or girl but now they are the fattys.  I wasnt the most popular but by no mean a outcast.  I was friends with everyone and was know by all.  I can remember some of there attitudes towards others and that is what makes me laugh about it.

I had my 20th year reunion last fall.  I was presently suprised at how good of shape most folks were in.  Only a couple of folks had really let themselves go.  Couple of the gals that were wales at our 10 year had been on Jenny Craig and had paid to have some work done.  Most of the guys were w/i 20lbs or so of when we graduated.

Funny how things work out. I graduated high school in 2004 and here are some things I've noticed.

The hottest girl in my class got skin cancer from too much time in the tanning bed
The dude who got laid all the time is now a registered sex offender for something bad he did at college
The plain jane girls all got pretty hot over the past 5 years
The nerdy kid who no one ever really paid attention to is now a USMC sniper
The biggest pothead I knew is now in med school

I'm 30+ years out of HS.  I haven't been to my class reunions in 20yrs.  However, I have been to my wife's as she was a class officer and is still responsible for organizing parts of her class reunions.
We went to a small school so we both pretty much know all the same people who graduated a few years before and after us.

A bunch of the jocks are fat bodies now.  Several of the former hotties are not much to look at as gravity has taken it's toll.  I did note that a some of the previous plain janes have become drop dead gorgeous.
My dear wife falls into that category and I'm a very lucky guy.

One other thing that seemed more common, guys like me, not so athletic, more on the studious side (okay....nerds) have become successful & frequently have good looking women with them.

Saw a bunch of people for the first time since HS a few weeks after I commissioned. A female friend told me her friends asked afterwards "He used to be scrawny, wtf happened to him?"

Ended up going home from that party with a girl I never woulda had a shot at in HS.

Yep. As others have said... just wait. It gets better. When you see them in 20/25 years, they'll be both fat and grey with sagging everything (including facial features).

Enjoy your (relative) youth while you can.

Getting old ain't for pussies.

I sometimes have to laugh at it.

This one girl I had a crush on in hs , was 5'0"?? Probably weighed 80 lbs.

I think she weighs triple that now, going on the pics that I have seen.

Yes, many let themselves go, the hottie everyone wanted now has 3 kids and more chins than Glenn Beck.

I let myself go a little but at least I'm coming back down, most of them seem to be "movin' on up".

I think it's just life, chaos and those people who don't prioritize.

Good topic for a thread, kudos to you ArmyofOne.

It's been some years since my tenth reunion but one thing that really struck me was a bookworm girl who had big glasses in HS, was very low key  and I never gave a second look to.

Apparently, UNC Chapel Hill agreed with her.

She showed up at the reunion with a body to die for (very large breats, long legs, pretty face, and a very feisty attitude.)

Smoking hot. We had a few drinks together and had some fun. My wife was with me.

But I was very happy to see how Joella had changed and was proud of her.

One of the big time football stars was about 50 lbs overweight, shotgun married, and had several kids.

Typical of my HS the reunion was held in the gym of the National Guard Armory.

And the same old drunk "hoods" who wanted to fight in high school wanted to fight ten yrs. later.

That was the last HS reunion I attended.

ETA

When you go on to 4 yrs of college and grad school, HS just isn't that relevant anymore.

My 25th is coming up and I've never yet attended any of my reunions.

This time, I'm going.  And it should be very entertaining.

My hairline is far from what it once was but I'm a lot better built than I was back then,  and frankly I look pretty good.   This won't hurt my chances of

giving a nice warm welcoming hug/feel to the better looking girls who used to ignore me way back then.  Some of them will be fine, others will be "rugged",

others will be spherical.

I'm hoping to catch up with a couple specific girls.

Recently set up a Facebook account to keep up with my kids.   I've been pinged by a couple dozen folks I went to HS with since then.    One of my old neighborhood friends is spearheading efforts to organize our 40th reunion.   I haven't attended earlier reunions, and I don't think I will go to the 40th either.

I had to chuckle at this thread. My younger brother just went to his 20 year reunion. He has dropped a good hunk of weight and he told me that a lot of folks didn't recognize him. His analysis basically mirrored what has already been stated.

I skipped my 30th last year, based upon the antics of the women who still hated each other at our 25th. Seriously - cops had to come and arrest 43 year old ex-cheerleaders for assault, public drunk and one for UTI-meth. Hilarious at the time, but just sad now.

For my 10 year reunion - on average -
The jocks were fat, balding, once divorced with child support payments and dead end jobs.
The cheerleaders were fat twice divorced 3 kid cows.
The pot heads were college graduates with good jobs.
The nerdy girls had morphed into hotties with good jobs.
The geeks were making good money.

I was sitting with my buddies bullshitting and drinking for the 10 year reunion.
One of the hottest girls came up to me and started talking to me.
I didn't even realize who she was until my buddy Jeff told me it was Tina, she had been one of the shyest and nicest people in school, since I sat next to her in junior history I used to talk to her when I was buzzed.
She told me about the crush she had on me.
We ended up hooking up a few months later, she was still the nicest person, but she sure was not shy.
I still get emails from her.

I am 17 yrs out of HS and have reconnected with a lot of old classmates on Facebook.

Thought I was losing my hair and getting a wee bit of a gut. HOLY SHIT, some of the people I knew are the size of houses and (or) look old enough to be my parents. (FWIW, I am exactly the same weight I was my senior year of HS).

Pretty much all the jocks are bald, fat, goatee having guys who work construction and spend all their free time hiding from their wives at the local bars, reliving their "glory days". (no offense to fat, balding construction workers, I am in the trades too).

The cheerleader and popular girl types are split about 50/50 between 200lb+ house fraus with chopped hair and still smokin hot. Lots of the late bloomers look great.

One of my classmates who really stuck out was this longhaired dirtbag kid who was that kid in school that everyone was afraid of.

His profile pic is of him wearing a suit and tie, all grown up and professional (IIRC he is an accountant or something).

The memorial page really reminded me how life is an incurable disease (lots of folks no longer with us, including one of my best friends from HS).

Yup.  A few buddies played football and were big guys in their senior year.  Lifted, ate like horses, worked out some more.

Most went to college and didn't play football anymore but ate the same.  I guess most of them didn't continue working out either.  It's amazing what that muscle mass turns into if you don't maintain it.

its funny that this turned to a reunion thread.  I have one coming up in a few months but am not sure if I will go.  As for me I was the 6'2'' 175 lbs kid that was thin and farely good looking.  Never had a problem with the ladies.  Now Im 6'2'' 190 and can out lift my best days of high school and college ball.  To be fair I only played one year of college ball due to a car wreck.
