Why are plates at Mexican restaurants so dang hot? It's not like they are only folks that serve hot food. But the plates seem to be taken from the kiln to table.

"Señor, please be careful this plate is very hot."
I always grab it anyway just to check. YEP IT'S HOT!
Seriously though, why are you complaining. I'll take my Mexican food of a hot plate any day over an ordinary "room temperature" plate.

To help to keep the food hot? It's a good thing.

Other places serve food hot. But only the mehicans try to inflict a 3rd degree burn with the plate.
