Does anyone know where to get a program that I can use to fax documents to people.  I'm tired of printing out documents just to take them over to the fax machine and send them out again.

Thanks in advance.

Is the machine you use to fax with also your printer?  If so most multi-function units with print and fax capability have software included that will allow you to fax from your desktop.

Why do we even have fax machines anymore?  It is time to move forward.  Email is no different than a fax.  I had to fax window sticker from my Jeep when i bought it.  They wouldn't accept email.  Said fax was more secure.  I told them i had a software fax machine on my computer.  VCRs and Faxs need to die now.   /rant

We have rightfax at work. Don't know how much it is.  Windows XP has a built in one. I never used it.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306661

I think there are websites that enable you to upload a file and have it faxed for a small fee.

you will need a modem, but yes you can fax with the Windows Fax and Scan tool.   XP its called Fax Console

note:
WFS is only available in Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Server 2008 and is available as an optional component in Windows Vista Home or Enterprise and Win7 ultimate.

Most PCs with a fax modem should have a printer driver.  You then 'print' the document to the fax driver instead of your usual printer.

Godaddy Fax...

They give you your own 1800 number to receiver.

You can send faxes in word/pdf/jpg + a bunch of other formats

The faxes get emailed directly to you (You don't need to be in front of YOUR fax machine to send/receive faxes)

No need for a land line.

It's like $8-12 a month, worth every penny IMO

Most of the paperwork I fax comes to me in Adobe format.  Does that mean that I will have to copy all documents to Word before I can fax them via the interwebs?
