but not just any tattoo. this would be my first one
I'm thinking of doing it once I get my Dive Master Certification. I've thought a bit about one before, but never could find something i wanted for the rest of my life. the closest I've come was thinking something from Calvin & Hobbes would be cool. if I could incorporate C&H with diving, that would be great. I'm not finding much of any art on-line along those lines, so I figured I'd ask you guys how the whole process works. I'd like to see what I would be doing of course(artwork) as well as figuring out where it would be placed. |

If there's a specific shop you want to use, you can go in and have them draw up some concept stuff based on what you tell them you want. You could be really specific in what you wanted, or just give them a general idea and let them run with it. Just make sure you do your research and pick a shop that does good work - some guys might do outlining and lettering great, but absolutely suck when it comes to more artistic stuff. As far as placement, that's all up to you. Just remember that typically, the less meat between skin and bone, the more it'll hurt. |

In before all the tattoo haters
I knew exactly what i wanted and drew mine myself. But you can go there and they can help alot with ideas. I actually learned alot from reading tattoo websites and watching LA/Miami ink. More so the websites. They are addicting though ad you will want more. I got an iron cross on each shoulder blade my first time and im looking to go back soon for something else. |

I got 3 new tattoos yesterday.
A blue and black nautical star on my right bicep for my son, a pink and black star on my left bicep for my daughter, and my wifes initial under my wedding ring, (Blast way) I also had the angels on my left shoulder touched up. Make sure it is something you really want Natron |

I'd like to see what I would be doing of course(artwork) as well as figuring out where it would be placed. First, find a reputable shop, with a reputable artist. This process may take a while, it all depends on you. Once you find an artist that you are comfortable with, start talking with them about the type of tat that you are wanting. You might want to bring in some pictures of C&H, and of other people that are actually diving. Maybe some pics of the equipment. That way they can get a real good idea of what things look like, and what not. Then they will take your ideas, and sketch them out. They may come up with three or four. Be honest with what you think about them. If you like part of one, and not part of another, let them know. They may be able to combine them and come up with an even better tat for you. Have in mind where you want it and what size. It will affect price and complexity. |
