Hello fello ARFCOM'ers,
I'm in the process of building a new AR. I've gone w/ a RRA Varmint A4 upper At present I've got a RRA complete lower w/ 6pos. M4 style buttstock. I am looking at going w/ either a Magpul PRS or a CCA SRS/ARS buttstock on it. I need your input please on both of these buttstocks. Pros/Cons, etc. Thanks all!! |

The PRS requires a rifle receiver extension, rifle buffer, and rifle spring. So I need a full length "rifle" buffer tube, a rifle buffer and spring. The tube......commercial or mil-spec? Thanks!! There is no com or mil spec for rifle receiver extensions. There's rifle receiver extensions, and rifle receiver extensions + A2 spacer (for use with an A2 stock). You need a rifle receiver extension. |

WOW....glad I can count on ARFCOM...........to be completely useless when it comes to firearm information.....but instead ...confirm what I've always suspected....that at least 50% of the posters here are closet case ass assassins. ![]() You may want to ask the mods to make a forum just for topics like yours. Oh wait, they did |

Just buy an A1 tube, buffer and spring, and the PRS and you'll be good to go. As said above, there are no mil-spec/com-spec differences with fixed stock tubes. Good choice going with the PRS. Ive handled both, and while the weight was comperable, the CAA just felt cheap in comparison to the PRS... |

The most amazing thing ar15 lifer is you were aware of this little tid bit of information and still bitched about the traffic. You must be the same person that goes to a movie and when you see someone on thier cell phone you call your friend to bitch about it. |

Go with the PRS, for sure. You need a rifle length receiver extension (what people call 'buffer tubes' around these parts), a spacer... and you should be using a rifle spring and buffer. PRS is an AWESOME stock... the only complaint I have is that it does NOT have a QD sling provision. It has two sling loop mounts, but no QD like most of the other Magpul stocks do. |

Actually, I figured this being a firearms site and all....that by posting in GD it'd get the most traffic and that I'd get some useful information. Man was I wrong. No wonder most of the "old timers" don't come around anymore. Idiots like yourself w/ something "clever" and completely useless to say seem to be the way of GD these days. What a fucking shame. Hey....you know what...I think I'm going to find me a nice sports oriented board and post a topic about baking cookies and bash anyone who doesn't like snickerdoodles.
Thanks for your input and contribution to my thread. Now go fuck yourself.
