So I'm just chillin out, watching a little Gangland featuring the Crips in LA (they have some nice weapons - too bad the rest of you law abiding Californians can't have them, but I digress)...when on comes an ad for "Obama Shoes".
That's right, get your Obama Shoes to commemorate this historic presidency. I guess commemorative plates and coins are too passe for his target demographic. At first I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then I was repulsed. Then back to disbelief. Curiosity killed the cat, so i went to their website. Seems they are for real. https://www.obamashoes.tv/ if you are interested. For only $39.95 you too can get your commemorative Obama inaugural shoes. But wait, there's more. Act now, and get a free Obama backpack and Obama basketball for just the price of shipping and handling. Even more disbelief. WTF is with this? On the one hand, I'm ticked because they are even bringing his name into ads that appear on one of the better TV shows. On the other, i am somewhat encouraged because this, no matter awful I find Obama, suggests that capitalism is still alive. And then I thought about just how distasteful this might be from the "black" angle...shoes, backpacks, and a basketball, all with Obama's likeness. And then I thought, if this ad is running during Gangland, what is the target demographic of this show? Obviously something other than conservative middle aged suburbanites. Are aspiring gangbangers part of the target audience for this show? Anyone else seen this garbage? |

They screwed up on the ad.... they believed that by showing it during Gangland that the actual thugs in the show would see it. They're liberals hence their logic failed.
