We had a kickass storm here tonight. First was the light show, then the wind rolled in and then for the finale the sky opened up and everything got really wet.

It was the same for this morning.

I lived in Florida for 18 years of my life then moved to the Midwest, the storms here are 100 times worst than anything I ever saw in Florida.

Not including hurricanes.

They've been calling for severe thunderstorms every single day except two, for going on 3 weeks here in Northern Virginia.

So far, total rainfall is less than my cat spits in 4 minutes on your average day.  My front lawn has alligatored cracks in the topsoil, and I'm thinking about letting the grass finish blowing away and just plant gravel.

I can't sleep my house is getting pounding right now.  There is no break in between the thunder and the crack of the lightening...that's not good right?

That's how my folks taught us young'uns to not be afraid of thunderstorms. They'd prepare some popcorn and make a party of it!

I got a call from my dad and girlfriend last night, and at nearly $3.00 a minute it'd BETTER be important, saying that a Tornado tore through my neighborhood back home, toppled trees, and popping one of my windows.

I guess I never thought Tornadoes could happen in a downtown area...

I was in Lubbock 5/11/70 for the big one.  My car was totaled with me inside.  26 people died that night.  Don't mess with naders, at least not at night.

Kansas native here. Storm chasing is a hobby of mine and if anyone in the U.S. tells you they have worse T-storms than here in the midwest they are lying. Some really potent shit rolls across our plains...
