I weighed in on one of the "Cash for Clunkers" threads.  The same thought kept spinning through my head.
.gov can't keep spending/printing money like drunken sailors.
Our government has a policy of fiscal irresponsibility.

I fail to see how running up a massive public debt is good governmental policy.

Both political parties spend like crazy.  Democrat's like big public spending and raising taxes.  The Messiah ran up a massive debt with one penstroke.  God I hope the sheeple wake up and quit treating him like a rock star.

Of late, the Republicans have taken to invading foreign countries and propping up their governments at the expense of putting money into this country.

I'm not going to debate whether Iraq or Afghanistan policy is right.  But I don't like the spending aspect of these invasions, especially when we need to pay more attention to the infrastructure of the Good Old US of A.  Every time I see a school that has to fire teachers or a city that has to lay off cops, I get real mad.
I miss the days when electing a Republican meant we had a mean old man that was watching my money.

Those days are long gone.
I've been saying for years that the US needs a balanced budget amendment that would force .gov to maintain a zero deficit at the end of each congressional session.
I also advocate some sort of flat tax to replace the current cluster-f**k that is the current national tax policy.
Somehow, someway we as citizens need to get .gov to pull their collective heads out of their collective asses and promote fiscal responsibility as a national policy.
Or would that make too much sense.

That's all.  I have to do the dishes.
