| They stopped selling this stuff. It was the greatest thing in shaving since the double razor! Now what do I use. I'll never go back to foam. What do you all use? |

Just about any shaving soap and a brush is better than any of the goop in a can. You'll get better skin care and save money in the long run. ETA: There is a thread about double edge shaving that has a lot of information in it. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=772013 |

Here's what I use (whipped up in a warm, wet mug): Target used to carry Proraso, don't know if you can still find it there or not. I wanted to try it, but it seems pretty close to Noxzema. I've used the Nox as a preshave treatment on a 5 day growth. |

Now I'm convinced... there is nothing that beats wetshaving using a brush and an old-fashioned DE razor (although I admit I haven't tried a straight razor).

Get yourself some Dr. Harris shaving soap with bowl and a good silvertip badger hair brush.
I use a Gillette fusion razor since I find much faster then a straight razor. If you do get a straight razor get a carbon steel one, holds an edge much better, just have to take care that it doesn't rust. The straight razor will do a much better job, but is more time consuming and not the best idea if you ever shave when your still half asleep
Trust me on this, You will never use shaving cream again. |

| I don't think a lot of you understand what I'm talking about. Edge active care revitalizing did not "foam". It was a cream and stayed a cream on your beard. My beard comes out like copper wire so it was hell getting it to stand up. This stuff was awsome. It also had peppermint oil in it so it was soothing and refreshing! If you have never tried it, you are a poorer person for it. |

If you have never tried it, you are a poorer person for it. I guarantee you that proper wetshaving will be better. It seems that because of the thickness of your beard, you like the high viscosity gel. With proper wetshaving your beard will be softer from the moisture/warmth/pre-shave. Use pre-shave oil if you wish. The lather will be warm, and you can create your own viscocity with the lather, as well as choose your brand. And nothing will work that lather into and underneath your beard like a badger hair brush. Let's not even get started about the razors.... Since you may not be able to access the thread that was mentioned (it's old), here's a site that can introduce you to wetshaving. The forums are very active/helpful.

While your at it, don't forget the others. The Shave Den Shave My Face I've shaved with straights, injectors, electric, cartridge, disposables, and double edge razors. Nothing beats warm lather off a softened badger brush and a sharp double edge razor. With a good soap you will never get razor burn or irritation. |
