From what I have heard.

While the H2 is ridiculous and overpriced, the H3 is not a bad 4x4 for the money.

my sister has an H3.  Not a bad little SUV.  Feels heavy/solid compared to most of the smaller stuff i have ridden in.  I have never driven it so can't give you a real opinion on that.

I like the truck version you are looking at as well.

I'm breaking the rules, but the H3 Alpha has a 5.3L, an iron front differential, and lockers front and rear with 4:10's. Good approach and departure angle, 33" tires stock, and a solid drivetrain make it a good platform.  This is just what I have read and seen working on H3's, coupled with my experience with GM trucks.

I drove both the h3  and h2 at one of the chevy events. Imo its pretty solid for a smaller suv didnt feel all light and flimsy like others i drove but  i didnt like the small front windows and the smallish interior annoyed me. After driving both i would just get a h2 i liked it ALOT better than the h3.

The Unlimited 4dr JK Wrangler gets a lot of "Hey I didnt know Jeep made a Hummer??" type statements.  I cant believe how many people have asked me if this thing is hummer based, or hummer produced.

I laff.

I looked at the H3, H2, and H3T, and went with the Wrangler due to $ difference, mod-ability, and fuel mileage.

Might want to check one out, but you said you liked the truck, and obviously the Wrangler has a pretty shitty bed... :D

I like the wranglers a friend of mine has one. I came close to getting one. I use to own a 3 door wrangler and love the hell out of it. I had an inline 6 in it. I need something with some kind of a truck bed though. I have had my last truck 10 yrs and my AC just went out and my check engine light just came on so instead of fixing it I'm getting me a new truck.

Not a real Hummer.

If you buy it, you're a poser. Like buying any current model Jeep that doesn't end in Wrangler.

Get a Colorado instead.

The H3T Alpha is everything the Colorado needs to be. IMO, he'd be doing himself a favor choosing the more overbuilt truck rather than the one that's just a mini-truck
