I have taught casting a bunch and it looks normal to me
Some get it some don't

I did tell one guy who had never picked up a rod before
God made people like him to keep us teaching
He could lay out 35 feet in about 5 mins and could shoot line a little later
And he either acted well to fake it or he had never cast before.

I'd have to give those women some credit because it took me most of a day to get really comfortable my first time with a fly rod.

i tried it about a month ago, and goddamnit do i ever suck.

my back cast isn' t slightly better than a crime against humanity, but i don't have the patience to wait long enough for the forward cast. i get all antsy and fuck it up.

Learned when I was a pup. I can cast well, but don't catch a lot of fish. My dad is self taught. He's a master with nymphs.
