Any recommendations for a good pair of truly waterproof hiking boots?
I've spent hundreds of dollars on boots, many of which use Gor-tex and are supposedly waterproof, and have inevitably wound up with sopping wet feet once it starts to rain. Aside from fully rubber knee-high storm boots, are there any products out there that can let me hike in the rain without getting my feet wet? I've tried the socks, too. And they equally suck. |

Any pair of good Gore-Tex boots should work. Asolo. Vasque. Lowa. the key is to keep water from comin in through the top of the boot. You NEED to wear gaiters, or water proof pants that cover the top of the boot, or both (like I do) if you want your feet to stay dry. |

Just got myself a new pair (50% off from backcountryoutlet.com), and they worked perfectly on my backpacking trip over the 4th weekend. Hiked in a lot of snow, mud, and water. Zero leaks. I've actually never had a gore-tex boot leak on me, but I've stuck to the above mentioned brands. |
