| Anyone here have their CISSP? Found out today I have until about mid November to study for it. Not too worried, security stuff is a large part of my daily work and have been doing it awhile. Short of staying in a Holiday Inn Express for a couple of days any tips? |

I've had the CISSP for a little over a year. I passed it on the first try but I know two InfoSec pros that failed on the first shot so don't take it too lightly. It's not rocket science but it's not a cake walk. 1) Check out www.cccure.org. This is the best online resource that i have found. The forums are good and they have some useful cheat sheets to download. They also have online tests that might be helpful. 2) Get the latest Shon Harris AIO study guide and read it cover to cover. 3) Get the official ISC2 study guide and spend some time with it. I didn't do this and regretted it. 4) General IT experience helps. I had to rely on practical experience to answer some of the questions because they were not in any of the study guides. If you have any questions feel free to IM me. |

Thanks for the tips. I already signed up for the website, been looking around a bit. I guess the ISC2 book is consider to be the best, but I already ordered the All in One book, supposedly pretty good too. I have a pretty broad experience in IT, my only concern is the questions are rumored to be tricky.
I'm concerned about the experience requirements, not exactly sure what they are looking for. |
