Looking for advice on a good PT routine,  any website or information would be great, looking to improve my health with more of an emphasis on upper torso.

Thanks.

You would be an ideal candidate for Rippetoe's Starting Strength.

I bought a chin up bar, some wieghts to do curls, do push ups, sit ups and run a couple miles every other day.

I do the run on one day and the other stuff on the other days.  I have lost 25 pounds and am in the best shape of my life right now.  Just start slow and work your way up.

I have hated running all my life but nothing has done for me the last 8 months what running has.

BTW, everyone starts out wanting to work on the upper torso, but the fact of the matter is your upper torso will not grow unless you work your lower body and posterior chain.

There is a reason why the squat and dead lift are regarded as the two most important lifts you will do.

I am trying to get the same sort of routine together, but my discipline is lacking in the anaerobic part of my working out.

I run 3 miles ( 21 mins my best time so far ) mon wed fri and am supposed to do pushups/situps on tues thur sat, but i keep skipping out on the pushups and situps.

i've never been athletic in my life, the first time i ran 2 miles was after i enlisted for the army, but in the past year or so i've become a decent runner, but i'm still about a minute away from a 13:00 two mile.

I have been using the P90X workouts for a couple of weeks now. They are a pretty broad range of workouts for general fitness. It is definately and extreme workout. Ease your way into it if you are out of shape.

You are doing better than me!  I was so out of shape up to the end of last year it was pathetic.  I decided to change my lifestyle and it has been amazing.  I have found that most of it is in my head.  You just have to do it and how I feel about it is irrelevant.  It is pretty cool to realize that my body can obey me and not the other way around like it has been for years.
