So, like an asshole, I got blackout drunk last weekend and lost the Surefire E2E I've carried for the last 3 years. I liked its size, but I'd like something with more battery life and more lumens is never bad either. I wouldn't mind another e2e with an led replacement, and I hear good things about fenix flashlights... So what are the good led heads to look at and what are the other good led flashlights of the e2e's size? eta: and what online retailer has good prices and selection for them? |

Fenix TK40 - this is definitely the next light on my list. I currently have the Fenix PD20 and PD30 and both are outstanding lights. Much better value than my surefires, and in my opinion, a better damn light. |

Man up, go to the store. |
| I just picked up one of these for pocket carry. http://www.nitecore.com/products/ezaa/ I really like it so far. There is a review at candlepower forums also. |

E2DL Max Output: 5/120 lumens* Runtime: 76/1.9 hours* *low/high settings On the candle power forum one of the guys is reporting more like 170-180 lumens out of his. that looks like a good option. Quoted:

If you want made in the USA, here is a great light. http://www.batteryjunction.com/120e-b.html ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, And here is what I would recommend. http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=93&products_id=711 ![]() Outputs and Runtimes Primary CR123A Battery
Rechargeable Lithium-Ion CR123A Battery
Specifications Dimensions: 92mm (L), 26mm (D) Weight: 65g, excluding batteries Battery: One CR123 battery or Li-ion battery Both light have EXCELLENT reviews. The Nitecore will be the brighter light. |

I'd recommend the Nitecore Defender Infinity. It uses AA's or lithium 14500 cells. It's just as bright as the CR123 Nitecores (230 lumens) with the 14500's, but you have the option of using readily available AA's. The 14500's are 2 for $4.00 and the charger is $12.00 from Dealextreme.
This light does everything a Gladius does, but does it with one AA instead of two cr123's. If you have to have an American made light that is made for fighting, give the Gladius or Insight Typhoon (same as a gladius) a shot. I hotrodded mine to 300 lumens without too much trouble. |
| I just ordered on of these these from Fenix and it seems pretty damn good. It uses the 18650 rechargable batteries, purchased separately with charger for $26.80. It arrived two days after I ordered it with $1 shipping. |

I've been browsing the candlepower forums a bit, and I was getting a bit overwhelmed. I didn't realize there was so much to flashlights. my mistake I guess.
It seems like surefire's new lx2 is a beast. The e2dl that was recommended seems to have now been surpassed by this one. with the forum's discount code it also seems that they're available for $156 which is damn steep, but is still attractive because I've never had a flashlight that approaches this thing's capabilitites. I'm willing to give up .6 of an inch and .6 of an ounce larger than my e2e as well. Is there such a thing as evil flashlight disease? Is it in the brd family? Because now I'm catching myself thinking that the lx2 would make a dandy weaponlight in addition to an edc, so maybe I should get a 1 cr123 cell flashlight for a dedicated edc flashlight in the possibility I had the lx2 on a rifle.
