Since sooner or later something is bound to happen, I figure it's just good sense to be ready to head for the hills (or flee the flames of the Cuyahoga River if you are from Ohio)

My vehicles are nothing special, but from time to time I see things that make me think other people might know something we don't.

So here are some pictures of BOV's to get everybody thinking about this.

As far as I can tell, teh insignia on this switch indicates some sort of Glock-like function. Only $127 for your Land Rover. God bless Lucas.

Lights are good. Lots of lights.

I find them more effective when they are pointed at where you are going, but to each their own...

This is more like it.

So it begins. The end could be near. What vehicular inspiration lurks on the net?

This one makes my eyes hurt.

This is more the back to basics approach...

Everything looks better in OD

I like this guys style, but gas mileage might be an issue

Some include everything, even the kitchen sink

Will Obama motors make a good BOV?

Here's a sneak preview of things to come...

Check out the cans on this one!!!!

yeah, I looked at the jerry cans too.

I sometimes wonder if Site Staff had to bug out of Shady Acres what vehicles they might choose...

I only need to get me, my gun and a small backpack from my house to my camp. Its about a 15 min drive along main roads, but I can get there by going all cross country and only crossing main roads. There is no way in hell anyone is gonna catch me.

Here's mine for now- War Machine

"She doesn't look like much but she's got it where it counts.  I've some special modifcations myself."

Actually I did race to a draw with a new Pontiac GTO this morning, so she has that going for her.

And for those who still doubt my BOV's abilities, it now features MOAR Magpul.

Boom

I had already put 16inch tires on it...

The EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle for me.

Backward and forward through time DeLorean [with Mr Fusion garbage to fuel converter] prototype for the girlfriend.

ETA: I forgot my "The Highwayman" rig:

18-wheeler with detachable Aérospatiale Gazelle helicopter (see cockpit) and micro-nuclear fusion power plant and plenty of storage space for Sarah Connor type cache.  Vehicle currently secure in an undisclosed location.  Can only be activated by fingerprint scan + retina scan + 25 character alphanumeric pass phrase.

That's an Uparmored LMTV in Iraq. Wait a few years and you'll be able to pick them up at Gov't auctions. Not a bad truck but maintenance can be a bitch.

This is my current project BOV........

Right now its a great driver and needs nothing as is.

But we can make it better than it was before, faster, stronger.........(key music)

Nice thread and I'll take one of these.  4 cylinder, 2.5 liter of aircooled goodness that makes 90hp.

edit, she is also sporting on the fly levers for 4x4 and front and rear diff lock.

I've got about 2,250.00 total in this one.   Everything works as designed,  but I do plan on adding HAM, CB, and a standard AM/FM CD player.  She's not real fancy,  but she'll do.

If you are asking about the one above the black car, it is a Pinzgauer.

You can get them pretty cheap used, I just wouldn't know where to get one serviced locally.  Would love to have one someday.

What?  It's dependable and gets 700-800 miles to a fill-up at normal speeds.  And when gas stations run out, they usually still have diesel.

Other vehicle, could be future BOV but needs some work first:

Just normal stuff.  The truck is still not 100%.

Motor had intake leak when I got it.

It actually a 2.8 chevy V6 in it so parts are not bad.

The starter is starting to drag so I will be changing that ($60)

And I'm putting in a new fuel pump.

The only major mod I'm planning is either a limited slip rear end or

a set of Aussie Lockers.
