Though I am still a member, made the mistake of becoming a LIfe Member when I was young and foolish, after they threw out Neal Knox I realized they were corrupt to the core!  Have not contributed a cent to them since then.

Without them NOBODY would own guns. Like it or not they are THE most powerful friend we all have with regard to gun ownership. But I'm sure Obama and the left would LOVE for them to go away. I am proud to be a member of the NRA....God bless them.

We The People are more powerful then the NRA. If  We The People did like we should and got off our lazy McDonald eating asses and called all of our State and Federal reps and told them to leave the 2nd Amendment alone, we would not need the NRA. I like GOA myself.

I once had the pleasure of talking with Neal Knox, and he did not share your disdain of the NRA.  He wanted to change it for the better, not abandon it.

The NRA is the Big Dog in Washington.  I support it and appreciate what they do for gun owners.

The NRA is not perfect in their legal battles but attacking them for not jumping over knives is a joke. It's not their main thing. People would get even more pissed if they started spending their $ fighting for more non-gun issues.

Well you could renounce your membership.
If you think we don't do any good for you just leave the organization.
Basically what you are doing is taking and taking and taking but not giving anything back.
Typical for a Liberal.  Is that what you are?

Please do not apply logic to a liberal.

It can start them afire

They don't hurt us too badly... In general they have a positive influence.

We wouldn't need them... But people would prefer to pay someone else to call their representatives for them, instead of doing it themselves.

GOA and JPFOA have better positions... but not near the clout.

And what has the GOA done lately, except bash the NRA and ask for more money?

Yeah, all the guns and gear that I have won at NRA sanctioned matches, all of the training....wasted.

You guys are idiots. How long would your overlords allow your rights, if they were not in absolute fear of the NRA?

How has the NRA hurt you ever?
Are you a gun owner/ gun lover or a Brady type?

They don't hurt us too badly......  Are you fucking serious?
Without the NRA we most likely would not have gun ownership in this Nation.

For years I've been saying it's a miracle we can still own guns.  Gun owner are their own worst enemy.  Too stubborn and  fractured to band together.

We make it too easy for the other side.  I'm proud to say I've been a member for over thirty years.

PA court: Philly gun laws invalid

By Joseph A. Slobodzian

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
Philadelphia's most recent attempt to impose local gun controls to stem the growing number of shootings and murders was invalidated today by a state appeals court.

Following a series of rulings that doomed previous Philadelphia gun control laws, the Commonwealth Court held that the state Supreme Court ruled in 1996 that only the state legislature - not municipalities - has the authority to enact gun laws.

Writing for the 6-1 majority of the Commonwealth Court, President Judge Bonnie Brigance Leadbetter called the precedent set by the Supreme Court in 1996 "crystal clear."

Judge Doris Ribner-Smith wrote separately, concurring and dissenting from the majority opinion.

Until they support the Abolishment of the BATFE, I won't give them a dime. I got a free membership though to get the magazine.

they owe it to me for the Veteran's Disarmament Bill.

...but send out fundraising junk mail.  I get at least one a week, sometimes more.

I want to know what their fundraising budget is because they sure spend a lot of money sending out those fancy envelopes.  Do they think I'm made of money?

And while we're on this topic, why were they nowhere to be found in the landmark 2A case of this decade, or any of the subsequent cases?  I'm sure I'll get flamed by the folks who think the NRA walks on water, but I paid my membership and now I want to know what they are doing besides pissing me off with all the junk mail.

I was a member of the GOA for a while until I realized they were just taking my money and not doing squat.

Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA?
A: Simply email us at [email protected] or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.
