I'm an project manager/project engineer for a major gas gathering and transmission company. I have an amine plant (removes CO2, not important) starting up that is not going very well, so this morning I drove the 2 hours down to east central OK to check on it and see what I can do. I get there and take a look around the plant. Not good, so I'm immediately pissed off... I walk over to the office shed and one of my construction supervisors stops me and says "Don't go in there... look at the door." There was, and I shit you not, a ransom note on the door saying "blah blah blah tape $900 to the fence if you want your stuff back and you and your sight(sic) left alone. Don't do nothing stupid. We will be watching." I looked around... don't see anything stolen... but that's still extortion, so we call the sheriff. Deputy comes out... takes note to send to OSBI for prints. We get to talking, and the subect turns to meth heads and he tells me about one that he had to shoot. The guy was shooting at the deputy with a bolt action .22 after a night of OD and hospital stay. Deputy shoots him 9 times with a .40 and kills him. The next gem out of his mouth was "that guy had an AR sitting right by the .22, and it was a .308. If he had come at me with that full auto rifle I would be dead." I gave him one of these  , but I let it go. Then he seamlessley transitions to "It seems like half the people you pull over anymore have THAT CCW LICENSE on top of their driver's license and say 'I've got a gun'. I DON"T BELIEVE IN IT. Hell, I had to pass CLEET certification and shoot like 800 rounds, AND I have to qualify twice a year to carry this. THEY just sit through a six hour class and them boom, they can carry a loaded gun. THEY probably couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. But hell, that's Oklahoma for ya. Oh, but I still believe we have a right to guns in our house"      . WTF... I'm sorry that the great state of OK has upset your backwards fucking view of RKBA. I hope open carry passes next session. I hope we dregulate CCW. I hope it makes his fucking head explode.
I can't quite pin this one down.... Fudd? Superiority complex? I don't know... I would just think that someone who has seen how bad things can get would be one of the ones saying "Hell yes I want honest people to carry." What do you guys think? Have you ever run into one of these? Turns out that the fucking people got in to the office and stole my laptop, then sprayed the whole office with a fire extinguisher to, presumably, cover prints. We did meet their demands though... well sort of... we put $1 in an envelope with a note: "We had your $900, but we spent $899 on a surveilance camera. Here's what's left. Who's stupid now?" |

| I'd say that dude really was on crack if he was using a .22 in a gun battle when he had a .308 by his side. If that even WAS true, I know it wasn't a full auto. Then again, that .308 ammo is hard to get so it was probably empty anyway. You know crackheads have priorities too. |
