feel like your just hitting a plateau in your workouts?  try creatine, mix it up in water and drink 1/2 hour before you start running.

I run here in AZ during the summer during mid day heat. I know all about mental blocks. Try convincing yourself to run when its 105-110. What you can do is  run to your reach that wall. Walk for 1-3 minutes then start running again. Keep doing this and keep reducing the amount of rest time. Also a little throwing up never hurt anyone.

when you mind tells you its time to stop.. stop and do some push ups or crunches and rest a minute..  then run back..

HTFU and run sissy-boy .  Don't use frickin creatine - it's just about useless for endurance activity.  You could get some nice cramps from it though.

Seriously - just run.  Longer some days, shorter and faster on others.

running can be a mental game but like everyone is saying just keep working at it.

set goals for yourself when you start to get tired. pick a spot ahead and push yourself to make it to it before you stop. if you reach it pick another and keep on going. next time you run dont allow yourself to stop before you surpassed that first stopping point in your last run. push yourself to keep on going farther before you stop.

also if you can find someone else to run with you are more likely to push yourself harder.

I don't know bro.

My experience with those who use creatine say that it does not help in running...

Yeah, try running new places. And setting time goals... With no goal, you are just running, and hurting...

are you running on a track?  like a big circle?  or a straight run,,  turn around and come back?

i always liked running in a road ..  so that way the father i ran i had to run that much to get back to the truck..  either force yourself to run it back .. Or spend the rest of the day on a long ass walk..  that might help too

Treadmill with 5% incline. All I have. I will not run the roads around here cause i dont want to get run over.

I havent ran in a couple years. I was never a strong runner. The first couple hundred yards would suck, then Id get into it. After about a mile and a half it would start to suck hard. Then I'd get to a point where my mind left my body and I was numb and just kept running somehow. Only looked at the ground like 5 feet in front of me. I had to quit because my knees werent holding up to it very well. Get bad knee from both sides of my family

Try walking at a 10% incline at 4.2 mph every other day.

I'm running 3 miles in the high 23min mark.  Not great, but not too shabby.

You're getting old.

Take a couple of days off. If you continually run, you're going to overtrain. It's better to rest when your body says stop.

Let me stress the importance of honest to god running on honest to god roads or trails. Drive somewhere to find a good park or something if you have to. I knew guys that could "run" their 2 miles in 13-14 minutes on a treadmill but sucked wind when it came to the actual PT test 2 miler.

Going up and down sidewalks and dealing with terrain is a huge part of running. Trails are good. Get off the mill. Do some sprints.

I know the treadmill isnt the best. But the closest track thats open to the public is 45 minutes away.  I cant do that drive everyday.

Don't worry, you'll receive sufficient motivation to run when you get to BCT

it is much easier to run on a treadmill then it is running outside. plus on a treadmill its boring, hot, easy to get off balance, easy to quit, etc. running outside is so much better for you. like i said before you can set small goals and push yourself to accomplish them. plus once you start running somewhere you have to push yourself to get back to your car/house. you cant just turn off the treadmill and your done. i run almost everyday and on major roads. just be heads up and try to run on side streets. keep it up and youll do fine.
