we trapped a skunk while trying to trap raccoons. what should we do with it?

.22 to the center of the head. This will kill instantly and not let it spray.

Sure it won't. Everyone I trapped and shot in the head sprayed.

On the show "The Exterminators" the guy slowly approached with a tarp held out in front of him to drape over the trap. He said if you get the tarp over the cage it usuall calms the skunk and they don't spray, then you can release it. Of course the skunk sprayed the tarp before he got it over the cage so I don't know if it really works.

I can vouch for this from shooting the little bastards on a golf course.
if you stand a ways back and dont spook them you can pop them in the head and you get instant lights out.
If you walk up to it you will spook them and they WILL spray....

My parents had a guy trap one. He put a blanket over the trap before moving it, and the skunk never sprayed.

inject it with nail polish remover. ive trapped alot and they never spray this way. dont shoot it.

syringe on the end of a stick.

I am now known as the skunk wisperer. i just opened the cage and a few minutes later he ran off into the woods. sorry no gunfire, no blading, and no pics. thanks for all your help.
